Weekly review

Three things went well this week: the reading plan held, the garden got planted, and the long call home finally happened.

What slipped: the budget sheet is two weeks behind, and I still have not written back to the landlord about the heating.

Next week is quieter. Keep the mornings empty and see what fills them.

Vault locked

Unlock

Obsidian opens behind your passphrase. Nothing works until you unlock.

After a few idle minutes, or the moment you switch to another app.

Search, shortcuts, settings and pop-out windows are locked too.

A private folder that disappears

Keep sensitive notes in one folder. When the vault locks, it is gone from the file list, search and graph. Unlock, and it is back.

Hidden inside Obsidian, not encrypted on disk.

Get Obsidian

Add BRAT

In Obsidian, open Settings → Community plugins, browse for BRAT, then install and enable it.

Add Vault Lock

Press Install and BRAT adds it to Obsidian. Or choose Add beta plugin in BRAT and paste:

obsidian-lock/vault-lock

Install

On first start, Vault Lock asks you to choose a passphrase. That's it.
